I'm not sure anymore. I have been a pupil of this school before, IT WAS REALLY GREAT with Mr Larrett. Sadly, he left. As a consequence, a new head was introduced. Since then, many teachers have left.This is when I lost faith in this school. However, during the last couple of weeks, my younger brother said the school has been doing REALLY good. Which I'm happy about. However. The school, ever since the previous headteacher left, many interesting features have been removed. -2 Months Later-Wow, 2 months ago, this school is MUCH better when I first wrote this. Miss Watson actually has a sense of humor!! WOW! The school dinners are better, and on Friday we get to have ketchup as a side! AMAZING. Thank goodness SAT's is over. Lots of teachers are now less strict which makes me more comfortable. The only things I should change: If it was raining before break or lunch time, do NOT let the children go outside; the aftermath is that they (the children) would slip and fall due to running despite being warned. I also feel like after SATs, year 6 should be able to talk again. The year 6 teachers (2016-2017 not naming) are still asking to work in silence. Is it because the volume gets louder? Then write names on the board if you could hear a particular voice. Overall, A VERY IMPROVED SCHOOL. I'm proud of this school and it should be proud as well. Who cares if the others say we're bad because we're from Basildon? Got abused from the 1960s-2000s? We IMPROVED. Many teachers have been substituted by more pleasant and warm-hearted teachers. capiche?-Goodness knows how much months/weeks it has been-Okay. Last few days in year 6 and here's a things I would like to say (boths pros and cons). We will start with the Cons.1) Detention is really messed up. In lunch time, there are two 'sittings' Year 3 and 4 are the first sitting while Year 5 and 6 are the second sitting. I see year 3 and 4 children in the second sitting due to a detention. What I was expecting was that Year 3 and 4 have their lunches first (first sitting) and THEN have their detention.2) This is more of a problem for the children than the school, but I'll say it anyway. The behavior of the children with different teachers. If the teacher is strict, children remain silent. However, with our French Teacher (who is NOT strict), the children do inappropriate things such as:Standing and Dancing on the table;Calling out and harassing other pupils;Talking back RUDELY to the teacherand a bit more. Overall, the school behavior is exceptional, It's just these things that make it 'not perfect'Okay, now let's move on and forget about the cons temporarily. Brighten Up, bucko!1) Teachers can control the pupils MUCH easier than before2) Much more relaxing activities after SAT's3) Teachers actually make jokes now :D-Goodness knows how many months it has been-I just remember one thing, one thing that is very irritating. Before the current headteacher (Miss Watson), our old headteacher, Mr Larrett, let us have a day where we could bring our gadgets in and play with it for primarily the entire day. This is known as 'Games day.' In 2015, however, Mr Larrett left. Since Miss Watson was the new headteacher, she decided to remove the day. Kinda sad, does not really effect anything much. But I miss it. Wonder what Mr Larrett is doing now after retirement, I can imagine him just fishing all day. In conclusion, this school is great(Mr Larrett/Golden era) at its best, and mediocre (Miss Watson/Dark Age era) at its worse.I currently go to Southend High School For Boys and I would like to 'borrow' some ideas to this school:-House Competitions (House Football, House Hockey, House Languages, House debating, etc)-A variety of clubs (Chess Club, Debating, Multi skills, Treasure hunting, Board Games)-(Not an SHSB idea) 11+ mock exams/preparing for 11+ supervision (intense maths and english) Let's just hope one thing, Lee Chapel will lose to St Anne Line! HAIL ST ANNE LINE!11
This school has been great ONLY when Mr Larrett was here.While Miss Watson is here it is becoming a disaster!More teachers and students are leaving! Even the smartest child in the school wants to leave.'Our students are like our children,' Miss Watson.What has she done to make us like her children! 'DETENTION DETENTION DETENTION!' Most of the children in our school hate it. People are moaning and still hating the school.All the teachers are bad and the school dinners are very bad. The only nice teacher is Miss Passfield. She is super nice, not like the other teachers...All year 6's are hoping to leave this school.They say we are their children but most of us hate it their.They're soooooo bossy because when we are doing our school play they force us to do bad plays.'DO THAT DO THAT DO THAT DO THAT' it is soo irritating.
The school used to be amazing with Mr Larrett but now it has gone awful with the new Headteacher. So many teachers have left
ONE OF THE BEST SCHOOLS EVER!!!!!!!! It has the most nicest headteacher and understanding teachers who will help you no matter what!!! Even the kids who go there ain't that bad at all; its also "The East Of England Gymnastics Champions" of 2011 &2012! Man, do I miss going there!!
